How to read a uranium result.

Canadian reference

The Canadian maximum acceptable concentration for uranium is 0.02 mg/L (20 µg/L).

What one result cannot conclude

  • Clear water is not a uranium screen.
  • A total uranium result is not a radiological diagnosis — follow the lab and public-health advice.

Sensible follow-up testing

  • Confirm units with the lab.
  • Use an alternate drinking supply while you confirm a treatment plan with the laboratory and local authority.

Source correction of the aquifer is generally not feasible. Treatment and waste-handling matter.

Certification questions

RO may reduce uranium at a drinking tap when the claim exists. Ion exchange for uranium is specialist work because of residual media and regenerate.
