PFAS water testing in Canada

When to test drinking water for PFAS in Canada, what lab packages include, and how results connect to certified RO and installer matching.

Why PFAS testing is different

PFAS (“forever chemicals”) need specialized laboratory methods — not a free dealer strip or a basic bacteria bottle. Health Canada’s drinking-water guidance has tightened expectations; many homeowners test when they live near airports, industry, fire-training sites or want kitchen-tap reassurance.

Municipal report vs your tap

Plant reports may not reflect premise plumbing or point-of-use conditions. If PFAS is your concern at the drinking faucet, ask an accredited lab for a residential PFAS package and follow their sampling protocol exactly.

Labs and packages

Paracel, Bureau Veritas (Maxxam) and other national labs offer PFAS menus. Confirm analyte list, reporting limits and bottle requirements before you sample.

After a detect

Point-of-use reverse osmosis with relevant reduction claims is the common kitchen strategy; whole-home carbon alone is usually not enough for PFAS at drinking taps. See our PFAS filter guides, then request a PFAS/RO quote.
