Why PFAS matters at home

Health Canada’s current value is a 30 ng/L drinking-water objective for the sum of 25 specified PFAS, not a finalized maximum acceptable concentration. Specialized PFAS testing should be completed by an accredited laboratory.
What to buy
Look for the exact PFAS reduction claim on a system certified to NSF/ANSI 53 (carbon) or 58 (reverse osmosis), and keep replacement media on schedule. Certification to the standard without the contaminant claim is not enough.
Whole-home carbon is not enough alone
Carbon performance varies by PFAS type, water chemistry, flow and media life. Point-of-use RO or carbon covers only the connected drinking tap; confirm performance with paired accredited-lab samples before and after treatment.
