When do you need a sediment filter?
Sand, silt and rust particles destroy downstream equipment. How to spot sediment issues and where the filter sits in the stack.

Clues you need sediment control
- Grit in faucet aerators
- Cloudy water after pump cycles
- Frequent cartridge clogging
- New well or recently disturbed main
Placement
Sediment is usually first in line so iron filters, softeners, carbon and UV stay clean.
Micron ratings
Coarser ratings protect equipment without killing pressure; finer ratings polish before UV. A tech will match rating to your water and pump.
Next step
